Position: Patient Care Coordinator

Work schedule: Flexible times. Clinic is open Monday – Friday, between the hours of 7:30a-5:30pm.
Location: Holly Springs, NC
Responsibilities:
1. Prepares patient electronic charts, and is responsible for the handling of such information in accordance with Village Physical Therapy’s HIPAA Policies and Procedures.
2. Coordinates patient scheduling as needed to facilitate the efficient use of Village Physical Therapy’s staff time and maintains clinic patient flow.
3. Answers phone and relays messages.
4. Processes incoming and outgoing mail and faxes daily.
5. Scans, types and files as needed.
6. Participates in Village Physical Therapy staff meetings as necessary.
7. Participates and adheres to, as required, the HIPAA Policies and Procedures of Village
Physical Therapy.
8. Responsible for handling bank deposits weekly and settling cc receipts daily.
9. Telephones and interviews patients and/or family members to obtain accurate pre-registration information and to confirm appointments.
10. Ensures that patient visits and procedures are pre-authorized by third party payers, managed care organizations and HMOs.
11. Acquires signatures of patient and/or family members, as appropriate, on all required patient forms, including HIPAA forms.
12. Maintains all patient forms, documentation of verification, etc. for patient records.
13. Verifies eligibility and benefits for each patient.
14. Assists patients or family members with completion of intake forms.
15. Offers friendly, courteous and confidential assistance to every patient of Village Physical Therapy to ensure that the patient has a positive experience.
16. Keeps stock bottles filled for cleaning fluids and ultrasound gel.
17. Helps patients in distress by notifying therapist and assisting in responding to
emergencies.
18. Accepts mail deliveries and unpacks supply deliveries and checks that inventory complete.
19. Answer patient questions and maintain the reception area.
20. Assists the office manager in tasks as delegated, including but not limited to marketing
efforts, MSDS updates, plan of care and billing audits.
Requirements:
High school diploma / GED
Related experience preferred
