About James
James has lived in the Triangle since 2013 and recently moved to Holly Springs with his family in 2020. He and his wife, Sara (Physician Assistant and owner of Made to Mother Lactation, PLLC) have 3 young daughters. Having been born and raised in the Tar Heel State, James and Sara are UNC-Chapel Hill alumni and avid fans of all their sports teams!
Prior to joining the team at Village PT in September 2022, James accrued a wealth of knowledge and experience in human movement and performance with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science from UNC-CH in 2013 and as a strength and conditioning coach and personal trainer in Apex for 5 years. Following his passion for improving and restoring human movement and function, James attended and graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Campbell University in 2020. To complement his strong background with exercise principles and interventions to reduce pain and improve function, he has advanced his manual therapy skills to include dry needling, spinal manipulation, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM).
As an athlete and fitness enthusiast, James enjoys the process and results of challenging himself physically and mentally and living an active lifestyle. Whether it’s training for a half marathon, lifting heavy weights, or doing yardwork, James knows that it takes both self-discipline, motivation, and encouragement from others to achieve one’s goals, and he is excited to help his patients achieve theirs.
James is committed to the art and science of restoring and improving function and performance through evidence-informed, results-driven physical therapy.
